Be sure to have your shell environment prepared for Cadence programs, if needed, type:

(Note: If you do not copy the Cadence lines to your .cshrc, you will need to run this source command each time you want to run Cadence products.)

To start the documentation for Cadence design software

In the CDS Doc Library, listing "Docs by Product", find the topic "Virtuoso Layout Editor: Cell Design Tutorial"
Follow the directions for installing the tutorial, where prompted for your_install_directory, it is:

You should follow most of the instructions as they are in the tutorial, but check back to this page for portions that are best customized to our site. It may be easier to keep this page open and cut and paste commands into the command line rather than typing.
