This is basically a combination of two of my works onprotection.  The first is on video on demand (VOD), and prioritizing VOD customers in case of faults, and for the purpose of maximizing revenue.  The second is on a general protection model that covers some proposed as well as existing protection mechansims, and covers some shortcomings of existing mechanisms.
