  Electrical Engineering Program

    The expected attainments of graduates are:

  1. Electrical Engineering graduates will practice electrical engineering in industry, education, and public service.
  2. Graduates will contribute to the technological and economic development of Hawaii, the U.S., and beyond.
  3. Graduates who wish to pursue graduate study will be successful.
  4. Graduates will continue their professional development, through individual effort and advanced professional education.
  5. Graduates will provide technical leadership, with an understanding of the broader ethical and societal impact of technological developments, and the importance of diversity in the workforce.

  Computer Engineering Program

    The expected attainments of graduates are:

  1. Computer Engineering graduates will practice computer engineering in industry, education, and public service.
  2. Graduates will contribute to the technological and economic development of Hawaii, the U.S., and beyond.
  3. Graduates who wish to pursue graduate study will be successful.

Undergraduate Program Outcomes

  Electrical Engineering Program

    All graduates of the Electrical Engineering Program are expected to have demonstrated:

  1. An ability to identify, formulate, and solve complex engineering problems by applying principles of engineering, science, and mathematics.
  2. An ability to apply engineering design to produce solutions that meet specified needs with consideration of public health, safety, and welfare, as well as global, cultural, social, environmental, and economic factors.
  3. An ability to communicate effectively with a range of audiences.
  4. An ability to recognize ethical and professional responsibilities in engineering situations and make informed judgments, which must consider the impact of engineering solutions in global, economic, environmental, and societal contexts.
  5. An ability to function effectively on a team whose members together provide leadership, create a collaborative and inclusive environment, establish goals, plan tasks, and meet objectives.
  6. An ability to develop and conduct appropriate experimentation, analyze and interpret data, and use engineering judgment to draw conclusions.
  7. An ability to acquire and apply new knowledge as needed, using appropriate learning strategies.

Graduate Program Student Learning Outcomes

In general, a student who has successfully completed the graduate degree requirements should be able to:

  1. Demonstrate mastery of the theory and methodology specific to the field of electrical engineering.
  2. Critically analyze, synthesize, and utilize information and data related to the field of electrical engineering.
  3. Communicate both orally and in writing at a high level of proficiency in the field of study.
  4. Conduct research or produce some other form of creative work.
  5. Function as a professional in the discipline adhering to ethical standards.
