Congratulations to Kayla Hirano, a computer engineering major, who will be recognized as the Spring 2023 Outstanding Graduating Senior in Electrical and Computer Engineering. Kayla is a UH Regents Scholar which fully funded her undergraduate education. Kayla worked as an engineering intern at Spectrum Photonics developing an application that retrieves and stores sensor data. Due to her special software skills, Kayla was selected as a software engineering intern at Microsoft. After graduating, Kayla will return to Seattle to work as a software engineer. In her last year and half at UH, she worked in the Smart Campus Energy Lab. A Computer Engineering faculty member stated, “Kayla is a role model of a student in our computer engineering program.”
