We are faced with concerns of climate change, increased global demand on nonrenewable energy resources, national energy insecurity, growing food insecurity, and continuous exploitation of limited natural resources. Sustainability requires research and technology development that addresses above stated issues. This presentation is about a new paradigm: examining an integrated approach in converting renewable bioresources into bioenergy/biobased products with concomitant protection of our fragile environment. The speaker will share some of his on-going research activities in the field of bioenergy/biobased products and environmental biotechnology.
