Abstract
Andras has worked on collecting ECG data extensively, and this talk is part of an ongoing effort to systematize diagnostics from the ECG data. While doctors are trained to read ECGs for diagnosis, we also envision a systematic, data driven engineering analysis of such data. The talk hopes to bridge the physician's perspective with that of engineers.
Biography
Andras Bratincsak is a pediatric and adult congenital cardiologist, and an Associate Professor of Pediatrics at the John A. Burns School of Medicine, practicing mostly at Kapiolani Medical Center. He received his medical degree at Semmelweis University in Hungary, followed by a PhD in neuroscience at the Semmelweis University and the National Institutes of Health. He received pediatric training at the University of Hawaii and pediatric cardiology training at the University of California San Diego. He has a particular interest in cardiac disorders that involve the electrical properties of the heart, such as inherited arrhythmia syndromes, channelopathies and cardiomyopathies. A significant aspect of his research efforts are aimed at improving the accuracy of electrocardiograms and increasing its use for disease detection.
