Christy Kaneshiro is the 2007 HSPE Student Engineer of the Year

Christy Kaneshiro is the 2007 Hawaii Society of Professional Engineers (HSPE) Student Engineer of the Year.  She was selected by a committee of reviewers from the College, industry, and the Hawaii Council of Engineering Societies.  The selection was based on academic, service, industry, research, and extra-curricular activities. 

Ms. Kaneshiro's strong academic performance has earned her a place on the Dean's List every semester she has been in the program.  She has been the recipient of a number of scholarships including the E.E. Black, Boeing, Engineering Alumni Association of UH, and the Hawaii Society of Professional Engineers scholarships.  She has prepared for engineering practice by being an intern at Lockheed Martin Corporation. 

Ms. Kaneshiro served in leadership roles in engineering student organizations:  IEEE (Chairperson of the student chapter), Eta Kappa Nu Delta Omega Chapter (Treasurer), and Society of Women Engineers (Introduce a Girl to Engineering Day Program, Chairperson).
