Professor and Chair Wayne Shiroma was presented with the UH College of Engineering 2019 Faculty Service Award at a ceremony at Holmes Hall on October 4, 2019. According to Dean Brennon during the presentation, Wayne’s nominators said “Wayne's willingness to assist the ME department and see it to a successful transition and smooth operation has truly impressed us…Wayne's effort during the summer and into the fall is certainly over and beyond his regular duty and responsibility as an EE faculty and department chair. His characteristics of selflessness and supporting represent all that is good in our college.“

The selection of the faculty service awardee was based on a demonstrated commitment to supporting the vision for our college through tasks over and beyond their duties and responsibilities.
