Congratulations to Douglas Ellman for winning the College of Engineering’s Outstanding PhD Student Award. Doug uses optimization and machine learning techniques to study how distributed energy resources can be used to improve electric grid operations. Last year, Doug won the Bretzlaff ARCS Award in Engineering.
