ECE team takes 2nd place in UH Venture Competition
The team of ECE graduate students Jannatun Noor Sameera, Mohammad Shadman Ishrak, and Professor Olga Boric-Lubecke, dubbed WellNETS, were awarded Second place and $10,000, sponsored by Sharon Weiner, at the 25th Annual UH Venture Competition hosted by the Pacific Asian Center for Entrepreneurship (PACE). They presented an advanced Doppler radar-based solution revolutionizes elderly care by enabling seamless, non-contact monitoring of vital signs, eliminating the need for wearable sensors. It continuously tracks heart rate, breathing, and movement, providing real-time insights and timely alerts to caregivers, ensuring safety, independence, and peace of mind.
