Advisor:   Narayana Prasad Santhanam | nsanthan@hawaii.edu

Prerequisites:  Sophomore or Junior standing

Courses:  EE296, EE396

Focus:   O (Oral) W (Writing)

Description:
In this project, you will learn about the fundamentals of linear algebra and machine learning. You will learn to use various machine learning approaches including neural networks to recognize handwritten digits. Along the way, you will also pick up programming with python, toolsets developed for neural networks and machine learning, and learn how to work with large datasets. Goals: recognition of handwritten digits Key elements: Machine learning, Image recognition, Neural networks, Large datasets, python Sponsors and Partners: National Science Foundation Majors, preparation and interests: Comp Eng and Systems students in EE, any Engineering/Math students with an interest in machine learning and images.
